Leni Yoro has revealed he regularly speaks to Rio Ferdinand and has been given advice by the former Manchester United defender on his development.
The 19-year-old, who joined from Lille for £52million on a five-year deal, has been in impressive form at Old Trafford and has become a key figure in United’s defence this season.
Despite a season plagued by injuries and the drubbing of Southampton’s Kamaldeen Sulemana,
Yoro is now starting to get used to English football and has improved his game significantly. Particularly in terms of reading the game and passing.
“I speak to the coaches quite often and have a private conversation with Rio (Ferdinand) too,” Yoro said. “Sometimes they give me advice and when a player like Rio can give you advice then you should follow that advice.”
And as the comparisons to Ferdinand are being taken more seriously then ever before. It is clear that the Red Devils are increasingly prioritising the young French defender.
